Holiday Cards – To Send or Not to Send

By

Holiday greeting cards – to send or not to send, that is the question.  Many people have stopped sending the annual holiday card for some very noble reasons.  I’m usually first on board to streamline and simplify, but admittedly not when it comes to the holiday cards.  I really enjoy receiving them.  I love receiving a card from family that I rarely see or just the excitement of getting a beautiful card in the mail around the holidays.

I save the cards for one year, packing them away with my decorations.  I pull them out the following year when we put up the decorations and go through them once before tossing them aside.  I sat with my girls today and we went through all of our cards from last year and it was really special.  I also keep one of our family cards with the decorations so the girls can go through and see how they’ve changed from year to year.

I completely understand why some choose to no longer send the cards, I just want you to know that I miss receiving them.  I miss your updates and seeing your beautiful families.  I still love the idea and the sentiment behind them.

How do you feel about it?

I love the idea of holiday cards and now that we have a little one I think we’re under some family obligation to send them! Haha

I’m so glad I’m not alone!

I love sending and receiving holiday cards. I have people that I care and think about all year long and some just happen to live thousands of miles away. This is my chance to let them know I think of them and I love knowing that they think of my family.

and I love receiving your cards, Shadi!

  6. Like Caren with a “C” I love to receive cards but am not very good when it comes to sending them. Some years I send a lot but most years only a couple.

  7. [...] wrote a post a couple of weeks ago about sending holiday greeting cards because it seems that the trend to send is not what it once was.  I must admit it makes me sad. [...]
