Polyvore and Pinterest for Holiday Shopping
Posted by: | CommentsTrust me, I haven’t started thinking about the holiday season yet. Yes, the stores are already lining shelves with holiday goodies, but I’m certainly not there yet. However, this is the time of year when I see things that might be a good idea for a gift and I want to keep them on my radar. I think Pinterest and Polyvore are perfect tools for tracking holiday gifts. Here are a couple of examples of how to utilize these great tools to make shopping easier anytime of the year.
Polyvore was created as a tool for shopping and putting together outfits and interior design ideas, but you can use it for so much more. I have an example below using the idea of a dollhouse.
1. I’ve clipped the same dollhouse from two different sites so that you can monitor price differences.
2. I’ve included accessories to go with the dollhouse.
3. I’ve included different dollhouse options.

Perfectly Savvy Finds
Posted by: | CommentsHi everyone – Amanda from Confessions of a Wannabe Supermom was kind enough to guest post earlier this week as part of my new Savory Solutions series. She shared an organizing tip that she uses in her own home to prep outfits for the week in her kids’ closets. Your Savvy Find this week features some closet organizers that could be used to separate each outfit by day and make getting dressed in the morning a stress free event. You could use the cubbies that hang in the closet, or just a simple divider in between each outfit. Happy Organizing!

Posted by: | CommentsI have a couple of fun finds to welcome spring to your office. I need a little burst of spring to keep up the happy thoughts while I’m at my desk. Maybe these Savvy Finds will chase the snow and cold away.
I’m loving the Slim Shredder and it is a great price point. I have a little spot for it in my office so I’m going to go take a look at it at Bed Bath and Beyond. Even better – I noticed that Better Homes and Gardens is running a sweepstakes later this month so you can try and win one for your own office.
How absolutely wonderful are the supplies from See Jan Work at Office Depot? Talk about adding a splash of spring to an office – fabulous.

Posted by: | CommentsIf you are still looking for that perfect holiday gift, consider the gift of SAVINGS. I’m not a fan of giving gift cards because it just does not seem personal enough. However, the gift of learning how to save money is priceless. If you are planning to give money then give it in a piggy bank. Encourage the recipient to save for something special instead of spending without thought. I especially love the option below where the funds can be divided into “spend”, “donate” and “save”. Brilliant!
My Quick Clean-up Friends
Posted by: | CommentsI clean my bathroom everyday. Yes, that’s right. It’s my thing. I can’t stand a dirty bathroom. It is actually part of my morning routine. When I was a kid I remember that Saturday was clean the house day but that system does not work in my house. I’d go out of my mind before Saturday rolled around.
Instead, I use a short little maintenance cleaning routine each morning and my house stays clean all week. I might have to do a a more thorough job on the weekend, but this is definitely a time saver.
1. I keep a eco-friendly cleaner and some old cloths handy for each bathroom. After we’ve finished getting ready I give everything a quick once over. Same goes for the kitchen once the morning breakfast is complete.
2. My good friend the microfiber mop gets a quick run through the high traffic areas. I use a vinegar/water solution.
3. The cordless vacuum takes a short tour of the house.
4. The house is picked-up before we go to bed at night.
5. I stay sane.
What’s your cleaning routine?
