Perfectly Savvy Finds
Posted by: | CommentsHappy Friday my Savvy Friends. This week I’d like you to think about utilizing the space behind your doors. I have some great little finds for over the door mounted storage that might give you a little inspiration.
Check out the finds from The Door Organizer.com. They have some fantastic ideas for the space behind doors. I’ve never used the product, so I can’t personally recommend it, but it is definitely worth a look. I have two examples from their site below.
Going clockwise, I’ve found some wonderful little examples of how to use the space for pants, blazers and backpacks.
There are many uses for over the door storage. I challenge you to clean up and clean out a little area of your home this week by using the space behind one of your doors.

Posted by: | CommentsHello my Savvy Friends,
This week I’m sharing a Savvy Find as well as a savvy idea. In my early 20′s I was given a fantastic toolbox as a gift from an ex-ex-ex-boyfriend. The boyfriend didn’t last, but the toolbox certainly has. It was actually a very thoughtful and useful gift. As a single girl I really had nothing to make little repairs around the house and the toolbox has served me well through the years. I now use the box right in my kitchen area and can grab it quickly to make minor repairs around the house. Through the years I’ve added a few things to it that I find handy, a pair of scissors, additional screwdrivers, paper & pen etc… You can of course start from scratch and make your own little toolbox, but I’ve found some great options for you below. Of particular note, there is a handy little option from Bob Vila that will slide right into a kitchen drawer. I also like the Apollo Precision set because it has very useful tools and they all have a specific home that will make everything easy to find.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Posted by: | CommentsHello my Savvy Friends! I’ve come up with some fun little finds that just might help you organize your summer travels. As a side note, many sites are having travel sales right now so it is a good time to save a little on new packing gear.
- Let’s begin with what I consider to be a travel ESSENTIAL, the packing cube. I have a full set from E-Bags.com, but Eagle Creek also carries a nice line and I noticed they were on sale at Sierra Trading. I use my cubes to separate my kids’ clothing so that it is very easy to unpack. I can’t say enough about how versatile the cubes are and I consider them a must for my family travel.
- Next, shoe bags. Of course you can use plastic bags, but I do love this cute little pick from Tumi.
- The Quickload carry-on bag from Bean looks brilliant. This may be a new addition to our travel repertoire before our summer vacation.
- Jewelry portfolio = must have.
- Eagle Creek Mother Load Suitcase. This suitcase looks amazing. Has anyone tried it?
- If a car trip is in your plans for the summer, I highly recommend the MountainSmith Modular Hauler. We use our hauler quite frequently. It is perfect for clothing, toys or other essentials. It is highly durable and versatile.

Posted by: | CommentsHello Savvy Friends. This week I’m featuring a few items that can be used to clean-up, spruce-up, and organize kid clutter. My criteria for selecting items was simple;
1. It had to be easy for kids to use. Nothing too complicated or overdone.
2. It had to be versatile enough to grow with the child. I hate throwing money down the drain on fancy bins and baskets that only work for a year or two.
Are your ready?
1. Let’s begin at the top with two different sets of clear bins. The handled bins can help contain anything from crayons, markers and other art supplies to hair brushes, accessories and baseball cards. The larger totes are perfect for papers, folders and even little figurines.
2. Heading clockwise you’ll find the Busy Box. I love this versatile system. It has three separate compartments that stack on top of one another. I use mine for dolls and doll clothing. You could also store electronic gear, headphones and other equipment. It is on wheels so it is very easy to move around.
3. In the center there is a great solution for hallway storage. From balls and sporting equipment to stuffed animals and butterfly nets. A quick solution to picking up that hallway clutter.
4. Don’t forget to utilize your space behind the door. This great little colorful sorter will hold magazines, school papers, chore charts and artwork. Easy to find and ready to go.
5. A large clear toy box can be used for stuffed animals, sports gear, extra pillows and sleeping bags, purses and out of season clothing.
6. Bins with color can help you distinguish ownership. Blue bins for Billy’s things and green for Sally. Cute and stackable.
What other possibilities do you see here?
Have a great weekend!

Posted by: | CommentsHello my Savvy Friends. Today I have a collection of perfectly savvy hangers for your wardrobe.
I love a slim hanger (not a fan of the fat puffy plastic) and the first two examples are not only slim, but they have fantastic grooves in the top for hanging dresses with straps or other items that might slip.
Next I’ve found a couple of hangers to help organize your closet. First, an extendable hook to accommodate many hanging items. This would be great for a bathroom or tight entryway. Next, a stand to store your extra hangers instead of hunting for them between shirts.
The last two items are clever and versatile. First, a perfect hanger for storing and organizing your scarves. I have a ton of scarves and ’tis the time of year to pull them out and look fabulous. Hang them up on one of these fun hangers from the Container Store so that you can see them easily and use them frequently! The last item features a little pop out hook for the back of a door or even a little dressing area. So clever.
And while were on the topic of hangers…please recycle and reuse your hangers from the dry cleaners whenever possible. Here is a great little piece highlighting the importance of recycling hangers.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Perfectly Savvy Fridays
Posted by: | CommentsHappy Friday my Savvy Friends. It is going to be a wonderful New England weekend and we’ve certainly earned it. I hope my Savvy Finds will put a little “SPRING” in your spring cleaning.
I really want the Gloveables Apron. Wouldn’t it be fun to feel glamorous while scrubbing window sills? The leopard mops are super sassy and the very cute Caldrea bucket will put a little sunshine in your scrubbing. The Alice Supply Co. products make me want to get to work while the Cucina Savory Flower cleaning products sound heavenly. I’d get the critters that clean computer screens, but I suspect that my kids would confiscate them.
Happy scrubbing!

Posted by: | CommentsHappy Friday my Savvy Friends. Today your Perfectly Savvy Finds are fun yet useful desk organizers.
Two that I’d specifically love to point out are the Basic Desktop Organizer from Onlineorganizing.com and the Small Desktop station from the Container Store. The Basic Desktop Organizer is great for those that need to have “physical paper” as a reference. It keeps it contained, handy and easy to flip through. The Small Desktop Organizer is great because it is slim but also has just the right sized compartments for essentials.
Have a wonderful weekend.

I put the magnetic tape in the mix because you can slip a little on the back of a pen or pencil and stick it on the fridge.
